Aug. 12, 2011: Fairs and Tastebuds

It's time for the 4-H Fair and the Taste of Hartford.

1. Weather Bug says to expect a lot of sun and temperatures in the 80s today.

2. The Tolland County 4-H Fair begins today.

3. With winding down on Sunday, tonight is great night to hit the town, have some good food at a decent price and take in some entertainment too. Participating restaurants offer a special three-course, fixed-price menu that gives you the opportunity to sample the best they have to offer for only $23. 4. Black Eyed Sally’s, one of the participating restaurants, is famous for its barbecue and blues music. The popular nightspot hosts the Gas House Gorillas at 9 p.m. The band's repertoire encompasses a broad range of styles that include jump blues, gypsy swing, early rock ‘n’ roll, Cajun music and the occasional funk groove.
