St. John’s Episcopal Church, Vernon, has awarded scholarships to high school graduates Andrew Uzdejczyk of Vernon and Emily Kopsick of Tolland. Parish Priest Fr. Ben Brockman met with them this past week to discuss their plans. Andrew will attend Boston College in the Fall and plans to become a physicist or chemist. Emily is headed to Tulane University where she plans to major in psychology and homeland security. Andrew was the Valedictorian of his class and Emily received an English award from her school.
The scholarships were established by the Rev. Robert Wellner, former rector of St John’s, and Ruth Wellner in loving memory of Marianne Wellner and David Cabaniss.
