Cupcake Extravaganza Coming to Vernon

Students at Rockville High School geared up to participate in the Third Annual Cupcake Wars. Each student was paired with a faculty member, either a teacher, a paraprofessional, and in one case, the school resource officer. Fifteen teams  competed on March 19th to see which six pairs would advance to round two on April 3rd. The finalists will each make 100 cupcakes and display them at the Cupcake Extravaganza held that evening. Those cupcakes, along with several hundred more, will be available for purchase to benefit the food pantry at Hockanum Valley Community Council. Local celebrity judges will be on hand to judge the cupcakes and the entire community is invited to see and taste the cupcakes and enjoy the various displays. Tickets are $10.00 and entitles the recipient to choose among four gourmet and novelty cupcakes. Tickets are available at Rockville High School (860)870-6050 and HVCC (860) 872-7727.
