CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Training Registration

Registration for CERT training is now open. The 20 hour class gives residents skills and knowledge to help themselves, their families and neighbors in the event of a disaster. Training topics include natural disaster awareness, fire extinguisher use, disaster medical operations, first aid, and light search and rescue. Training culminates with a comprehensive course review and disaster simulation. All classes are taught by trained emergency personnel, including firefighters and emergency medical services personnel, with an emphasis on hands-on practice. Once residents graduate from the program they have the option of joining in an already established CERT (or meeting with their emergency manager to promote one in their town). 

Classes dates and times are:

 April 12th  8:00AM - 4:00PM Ellington Ambulance Building, 41 Maple St Ellington

April  26th  8:00AM- 4:00PM Somers Firehouse, 400 Main St Somers

May 10th  8:00AM – 4:00PM Vernon Public Safety Building 280 West St Vernon

Graduation May 17 10:00AM Stafford (location to be announced)

 A certificate of training will be awarded upon course completion.
