Obituary: John M. Crabtree

John M. Crabtree, 49, of Rockville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at his home.

He was born on January 1, 1963 in Providence, RI to Joanne (White) Crabtree and the late Edwy P. Crabtree. John grew up in Rockville, attending St. Bernard School, Rockville High School, and TCI in Windsor. A lover of the outdoors, a member of the Arbor Day Foundation, John could almost always be found doing something that helped connect him with the earth, whether it was gardening, fishing, camping, or visiting a National Park. He also loved to spend time on his land in Union and was a true conservationist. Quiet and unassuming, he had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his friends. He was also a big supporter of New England sports teams, especially his beloved Red Sox. It should be noted that John felt it was important to donate his long hair to "Locks of Love".

In addition to his mother he is survived by his brother, Edwy P. Crabtree, Jr. and his wife Dawn of North Windham; his sister, Paula (Crabtree) Coates of Suffield; nieces, Chailey Coates, Kylie Crabtree, Alisha Fuller, and a nephew, Christopher Coates. In addition to his father, John was predeceased by his brother Michael Edward Crabtree.

Family and friends may gather on Sunday, April 29, from 2-4 p.m. at the Ladd Homestead, 19 Ellington Ave., Rockville section of Vernon; followed by a Prayer Service at 4 p.m. Burial will be private.

Donations in John's memory may be made to The Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.

Please stop throwing around the term bullying. That word is so overused and by no means applies toRead More this situation. Suggesting someone fills out a survey with a pre-checked box does not even come close to intimidation.

You could set up a feeding station with a trail-cam ; you can see if he's coming around. TrailRead More cams run from $60 to $200 - but I have a "cheapy" $80 that does night time and day time shots and is fantastic, so the cheaper cams are very good.

Go out late a "night", when it is very quite, call his name. I have found many cats thisRead More way, because house cats don't like a lot of noise and are very afraid. Your cat is hiding, will be afraid to come out. Look in areas were there is woods, secluded areas.
