D. Tsarnaev swore allegiance to the U.S. on 9/11/2012 when he received U.S. citizenship, and among…Read More other things vowed:
"I hereby declare, on oath,
that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen;
"that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic;
"that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;
..."and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.
"In acknowledgement whereof I have hereunto affixed my signature."
He is a TRAITOR, because of the vicious, Terrorist murders, maiming and mayhem he committed last week, in contradiction of everything he swore an OATH to some seven months ago!
His callous and abominable terrorist attacks are evidence that he turned against the country and Constitution he swore allegiance to, if he did not have "any mental reservation or purpose of evasion" on the day he swore the oath--which is a distinct possibility!
Shouldn't such traitors be deemed to have relinquished some of their "rights" of citizenship?
Thanks, jc, and please share!

I totally agree! All the Boston carnage could have been prevented. We were given good intel and…Read More refused to take appropriate action. It seems that all Muslims are not terrorists...but all terrorists are Muslims. Terrorists are terrorists! Call them what they are and remove them from our country. And yes, if profiling turns up terrorists, then we should be profiling.

The new logo finally looks like a Husky. The previous one was a Samoyed. Just sayin'...
Dottie Konarski April 12, 2013 at 10:31 am
Catch me up here....what is wrong with the present UConn logo? It LOOKS like a Husky. Nike's…Read More version looks more like a wolf. You know the old saying......"if it ain't broke, don't fix it". The original Jonathan and the teams have been working for how many years? Why mess with success? I think a mascot that looks like the Nike version would scare the kids in the audience. Jonathan is FRIENDLY!

Whats the point of the section of paved road between the car pool lane and the left lane? In…Read More California, its separated by jersey barrier or just a thick white line. In my opinion, Connecticut has wasted a ton of money on asphalt that needs to be maintained that no one drives on. (I will make note that the catch basins are located there) But....water run off should go to grassy areas and drainage swale's. We would have a lot more room on the highway if we didn't waste that space that people cross over all the time and toss rocks up to crack my windshield.

I agree, I do see that the State Police pull people over in the Manchester area a lot. Maybe for…Read More driving in the car pool lane when you shouldn't be. But the aggravating part is that everyone slows down in the Exit 63 area, due to police, traffic entering, and slow drivers that haven't woken up yet. Its kind of contradictory but while I like a Police presence, I think that they are the main reason for traffic in that area. People gotta rubber neck and look at the pretty flashing lights. Keep your eyes on the road and keep on moving people!!!

No, North Korea isn't making me nervous. They're just a bunch of big mouthed small minded wind…Read More bags. What really makes me nervous are the politicians currently in power around here, namely Dan Malloy and Barack Obama. They make me plenty more nervous than Kim Jong Un...

I wonder what will happen to these kids 20 years from now after taking these drugs.

ADHD is a real disorder but is way over-diagnosed. When a boy isn't engaged (bored, not challenged),…Read More he's slapped with a label. Sometimes drugs are appropriate, other times it could mean that he needs to move up a grade level or be stimulated in another way. But other times its just covering problems up. I'd like to know what other countries do that diagnose ADHD.

Really? So they can start banning sports because of injuries.
Just my opinion April 10, 2013 at 11:22 am
One big issue is even though my child plays school sports she plays travel sports so an injury from…Read More travel might not be recorded as travel and go under school making the study wrong. Many children play outside of school how would they make sure they have proper data. Maybe they should document something that they can be sure that the info they use is correct.
Mike Atkins April 8, 2013 at 07:45 am
@Sean, irrelevant, only because parents think their child is the next great athlete and are willing…Read More to pay the thousands of dollars to get them a spot on a team. Typically many of those child athletes would have a difficult time making the HS team without Daddy's money.

Why not make them public! The whole public has been on this since begining. We mourned and have had…Read More tribute after tribute. We got to see the faces of the victims,why can't we see the evidence,life and witnesses of a man who did such a hienous act.. I don't get it.

I don't know if this comment was supposed to be serious or not.....but if it is, here's why that…Read More should never happen: http://www.gaelick.com/2011/06/my-marriage-is-equal/16012/

Why not name Marriage between people of the same sex "Gayrriage" and make them as valid as…Read More marriage. It may keep more people happy.

And there is the great thing about the Internet. I came here (just found Patch the other day) for…Read More some civil discussion about local events with people in my community and not one post later it devolves to, essentially, name calling by anonymous users. It’s the most perfect constant in the universe.
Anyway, no, 17 years is not that long in the grand scheme of things, but this is not the 1950’s. And I don’t see why in this case it’s Bill Clinton’s values. He signed the law, but I fail to see how that effects the current discussion. It would seem to be the values of the country as whole that are changing.
