Using NatureTo Make Fun Autumn Crafts

Round up the family, gather some supplies and whip up some interesting art.

Leaf Rubbing is an easy activity that will be enjoyed by both the young and young at heart. Step outside and grab several leaves in various shapes and sizes. Head back indoors, find a piece of white paper and some crayons; now you're ready to create unique pieces of art. Cut the rubbings apart and use them to make bookmarks, cards or door decorations.

Pumpkin Bird Feeders are super simple to assemble and will bring the family together. Parents can help younger children cut their pumpkins before adding seed. Spend the afternoon outside and make several of these to hang in various areas of the yard. Use different color and sized pumpkins to add a bit of festive touch to your property.

Fall Fingerprint Trees are not made with anything from nature. However, they will resemble a beautiful fall tree which has colorful leaves. This craft is a bit messy. Make sure to wear a smock or apron and cover the work area with newspaper for easy clean-up. Remember to write your child's age and year somewhere on the paper once the tree has dried. If the child is older he/she can do this on their own.

Apple Stamps can be used on a variety of media. Use them to decorate tote bags, t-shirts, paper sacks, cards and much more. This is a great way to use bruised apples or those past their prime. Feel free to use paint colors other than those suggested.

Nature Walk Wreaths are all different based upon what is collected on your family's walk and where your walk takes place. This is a great project to do with extended family or a group of your children's friends on a cool fall afternoon. Each member of the group will provide their own individual contribution. These would make nice gifts for friends or relatives as well.
