New England Ukelele Ensemble to Perform at Jacob's Well

The performance is slated for Feb. 3.

 

Jacob's Well Coffeehouse, downtown Rockville's popular monthly Christian nightclub, will feature the New England Ukelele Ensemble on Friday, Feb. 3.

The doors are scheduled to open at 7 p.m., with live music beginning at 7:30.

The quaint, cafe-style coffeehouse will be held at Bev's Corner Drop-in Center, 3 Elm St., in the Rockville section of Vernon.  Admission, snacks and beverages are free. The facility is handicapped-accessible.
 
Led by Somers resident Jim Lenn, the New England Ukelele Ensemble is a five-person acoustic group that recreates classic tunes from the 1960s and 1970s such as:

• "California Dreamin.’"
• "Blue Bayou."
• "Mama Told Me Not To Come."
• "Happy Together."
• "Eleanor Rigby."
• "Surfin’ USA."

Coffeehouse director Drew Crandall will make a cameo appearance on the congas for some of the group's songs.
