More than 200 Students Dig the RHS All-Night Volleyball Event

The event drew more than 30 teams.

More than 260 students and 36 teams participated in the annual all-night volleyball event at Rockville High School over the weekend sponsored by the RHS SSNAP - Students Seeking New Achievements Positively - and Peer Advocate groups.

"It was a lot of fun. It's really great to see so many kids get involved," said Alyssa Holmes, one of the student organizers.

Holmes said the event has evolved and grown so much over the past few years that it now includes 34 to 36 teams annually.

"I love seeing the creativity people have with their team names and uniforms," she said. "The students get so into it, and there's always a wide variety of themes and clever names."

She said the team names included "Irish Dig," "Sugar and Spike," and even "Acebook."

"It was a long night, but it was definitely worth all of the work we put into it," Holmes said.
